What support is provided?
Mentoring, although incredibly rewarding, is not always easy. You will find yourself challenged to assist the new employee find solutions to difficult and sometimes confronting problems.
To help you be the best mentor possible there are a number of avenues of support available:

Read your Heroes Handbook before you start your mentoring relationship. This will ensure you have much of the information required.

You can contact the fiftythousandjobs hotline to any ask any questions you may have. Remember there are no stupid questions!

Make sure you check the fiftythousandjobs website regularly to keep up to date with case studies, training opportunities and updates regarding the AEC.

Take a look at the case studies on this website. They may assist you in finding solutions to any issues that arise.

Complete the online education session ‘Mentoring’ and ‘Indigenous People and Culture’.You will be able to contact your internal Human Resources or Management structure for assistance as required.

The AEC will be organising mentoring workshops across Australia to provide support, education and networking opportunities. These will be advertised on the website so keep an eye out for upcoming sessions
