First AEC Job Set Graduates

03 June 2009

The Job Set Training Program ran over a period of 13 weeks and provided participants with training in Kitchen and Stewarding responsibilities. The course included not only classroom style session but weekly work placement with ISS operations in the region. The course also provided training on job skills to assist participants in a smooth transition from training to work.

Bill Trewlynn, Indigenous Employment Coordinator WA for ISS, also completed the program along side the participants. This assisted in Bill being able to provide in depth knowledge about the ISS operation and the expectations for new employees in the workplace. This mentoring will assist in improving retention rates of new workers.
