Job Set Training
The AEC supports a work first approach to employment. Therefore JOB SET training is short term, skills based programs tailored to employer needs and supported by government.
The preparation of AEC employees includes active intervention, building work skills and a focus on individual responsibility to ensure individuals reach their full potential.
Upon successful completion of training the Indigenous Job Seeker moves into guaranteed employment.
Certain jobs may require a Level Two or Three Certificate, however there will be other jobs where employer's specifications may only include a couple of accredited training modules and other additional requirements (such as a specialist license) It is the Training Providers role to deliver the training, as specified by the Employers, which will result in people moving into guaranteed jobs upon successful completion.
Job Set Training should focus on three key areas:
-
Skills training to meet employers specifications (i.e. accredited modules or specialised training)
-
Work preparation modules to meet both employers and job seekers
-
Employer and mentor involvement from the commencement of training
